Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a huge Disneyphile. I’ve been collecting Disneyana for years. I think I was around 12 or 13 when my collection really took off and I started buying stuff at the antique show. I’ve got quite a collection now, which Steve is kind enough to help me add to. We had a thrill at the beginning of August when the Clark County Historical Museum invited Cubby O’Brien to come speak. He is in fact Cubby from the original Mousketeers. He has led a fascinating life in show business doing a lot of drumming for various acts like Bernadette Peters, Ann Margaret, and the Carpenters. He now lives on the outskirts of Vancouver. We were able to briefly chat with him while he autographed pictures for us at the end. Here you can see Robbie and myself as Cubby signed his picture for us.
His autographed pictures are now on display with the autographed pieces I have for Marc Davis (one of Disney’s first animators and Walt’s legendary “Nine Old Men”) and Bill Justice (another legendary Disney animator).
